Progression to Higher Nitec

Aspiring to progress to Higher Nitec courses after your Nitec course?

Here is an opportunity for you to realise your dreams. Application for progression to Higher Nitec courses will be open in January 2010 (The exact application dates will be published in the Straits Times and the New Paper and ITE website following the release of 2009 GCE ‘O’ Level Exam results).

The following FAQs will help to guide you in your application. Do consult your class advisor if you need further advice on the progression.

1. Who can apply for progression to Higher Nitec courses?

The eligibility criteria for application for progression to Higher Nitec courses are:

1.1 Applicants must be Nitec graduates or full-time Nitec students who are in their final term of study with the following minimum GPA score (including CCA bonus) in their Nitec courses:

Information on the progression path will be provided in the ITE website nearer to the commencement of the intake;

1.2 Applicants must be able to attend classes which will start in Apr 2010; and

1.3 NS liable applicants who are offered a Higher Nitec course and are 20 years old and above, as at 1 Jan of course commencement year, must obtain approval from the Central Manpower Base (CMPB), Deferment Office, for NS deferment before making fee payment and enrolling into the course. If their NS deferments are not approved by CMPB, they will be withdrawn from their course.

2. How do applicants apply?

- Applicants who wish to progress to these courses are required to apply directly at the ITE Colleges offering the course during the application period.

Progression to other Higher Nitec courses

- Applicants can go to the ITE homepage at www.ite.edu.sg, click on "Application for Full-Time Higher Nitec Courses for April 2010 Intake" and follow the online instructions to submit their application via the internet.

- Applicants without internet access can use the computers at ITE Colleges offering Higher Nitec courses.

3. When will the application results be released?

The application results for progression to Higher Nitec will be released on:

- Applicants who apply for other Higher Nitec courses can check their application outcomes via the Internet on the above release date. Steps on how to check the application results via the Internet will be provided in the Application Verification Slip, which is to be printed and kept by the applicants upon submission of their application.

- Applicants who apply for Special Admissions Exercise courses listed on Page 1 will be notified of their application outcomes on the above release date by the ITE College offering the course.
