Audition for GREASE


An audition to select the cast for GREASE the musical will be held on Sat 16 Feb 2008 (9am-12pm or 1pm to 4pm) at ITE College East (Centre for Music and The Arts), Admin Blk, Level 2. Please tell your students to wear something comfortable (no skirt for female students - wear pants) - for the audition.

The musical production will be staged at ITE College East Auditorium from Thu 25 Sep to Sat 27 Sep 2008.

Some of your musically talented students (especially those who were former secondary school band members) may wish to continue their passion and interest in music in ITE. These students could join the Combined ITE Concert Band or the Combined ITE Jazz Band.
Students who wish to be selected are required to attend an audition on one of the following Saturdays:

NAFPA

NAFPA Test Schedule is 30 jan 0800-1200

  • NAPFA test is COMPULSORY. ALL students are to take the test during the schedule given.
  • Classes are to report PUNCTUALLY for NAPFA test (ie 0800hrs or 1400hrs). Reporting place is at the Stadium.
  • Classes will only come for the dates they are scheduled for.
  • Students are to be in PROPER PE/SPORTS ATTIRE. Those without proper attire will not be allowed to take the NAPFA test.
  • Students are to bring along their Student Pass or I/C, or any identification card with their I/C barcode on it. This is ensure the smooth running of the test and to reduce waiting time.

Ez Link Matters

  1. Students who have yet to take your photos, proceed to Student Activity Centre (B02-16) to take their photos on 11 Jan 08 (Fri), 8.30am to 5.30pm. Students who take their photos on a later date will receive their ez-link cards later.
  2. Students who are unable to take their photos on 11 Jan 08 can take their photos between 14 to 25 Jan, 11 am to 3 pm at the Student Activity Centre (B02-16).
  3. Students under sponsorship are not eligible for concession rate.
  4. Students can extend their secondary school ez-link cards with effect from 14 Jan 2008 at any TransitLink ticket office/ Add value machine. The cards can then be used till mid March after which they will receive their ITE ez-link cards.
  5. All notices on ez-link card matters will soon be posted on the ITECE website. All students are to check back regularly at ITECE website for updates of your status for application of ez-link card.

SFCCA Bursary Award 2008

The Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations (SFCCA) is offering a bursary of $400 to full-time ITE students. Application is open to all 1st & 2nd year ITE students.
Jan 08 & Apr 08 intake students Deadline : 23 Apr 08

Eligibility Criteria
  1. Must be a Chinese student who is a Singapore citizen or PR;
  2. Must be a full-time ITE student;
  3. Gross household income < $1,000 or PCI (Per Capital Income) below $300; and
  4. Must not in receipt of any scholarship or bursary within the same academic year.

If youmeet the above criteria and are keen to apply, get a copy of the application from CVC. Students will need to enclose all the supporting documents stated in the form. Thereafter, deposit the form and supporting income documents into the Student Services dropbox.

Please Note : Students who qualify to apply for the CDC & CCC-ITE bursary in Jan 08 should not apply for the SFCCA bursary. This is because the CDC bursary is worth $600-$800 while the SFCCA bursary is only for $400. The SFCCA bursary would be suitable for the Apr 07 intake students or for students whose family income exceeds $1,500 but PCI is still below $300.

CDC & CCC-ITE Bursary is open for application on 7 Jan 08 and ends 5 Feb 08.

Eligibility Criteria of the CDC & CCC-ITE Bursary

  1. Is a Singapore Citizen.
  2. Gross household income is $1,500 per month or below.
  3. Is not in receipt of the CDC & CCC-ITE Scholarship or any other ITE Scholarship.
  4. Is not in receipt of a monthly training allowance as a sponsored student or trainee.

Jan 08 Intake Students - Forms are available at the CVC.
Alternatively, for the bursary online (thru' the Student Portal), Students may still do so. Students will need to submit supporting income documents into the Bursary dropbox at CVC by Wed 23 Jan 08.
Important to Note:
  1. Student must indicate the names of both parents on the application form. If parents are divorced, separated or deceased, the student must indicate the status "Divorced /Separated /Deceased" under the column "Occupation". Otherwise, there will be a delay in the processing of applications by the Community Centres.
  2. Student MUST submit supporting income documents (payslip, employer's letter, IR8A/Income Tax Assessment or income declaration form) together with the application form. Adults who are not working must declare a "NIL" income using our income declaration form. Deposit these into the Bursary dropbox located at the CVC or collated by the CAs by Wed 23 Jan 08.
  3. Incomplete submission of income documents will delay the processing of the bursary.
  4. Students may log into their Student Portal to check the status of their bursary applications (Approved/Rejected) after 17 Feb 08. CAs will also received a list of students who applied for bursary and their status of application then.
  5. Successful bursary applicants will be notified by their respective Community Centres to collect the cheques. This would usually take place sometime end Mar/mid Apr 08. Upon receipt of the bursary award, students may use the bursary monies to pay their fees.
